CM leaves CEOs stumped

There was hardly any interaction in the interactive session between Chief Minister Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy and top honchos of the corporate world organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry. Around 60 CEOs and top officials from major coroporates had arrived here from the four southern states to have an interaction with the chief minister and to submit investment proposals for the State. However, Dr Reddy left as soon as he made a routine speech, leaving them dismayed.
The session started an hour later than scheduled, thanks to the delayed arrival of the Chief Minister. As soon as the meeting began, Mr B.V.R.Mohan Reddy, deputy chairman of CII (Southern Region) spoke for 20 minutes praising the Chief Minister on his efforts to construct new irrigation projects and on his balanced developmental vision.Ms Geetha Reddy also used her speech to shower praises on Dr Reddy, calling him the most dynamic and visionary Chief Minister the State ever had.
Then the Chief Minister read a prepared speech about various government schemes including the low-interest loans to women self help groups, Jalayagnam, and rural public schools. As soon as he finished his speech, he left the venue and the organisers announced that he had a busy schedule and could not stay.
All the CEOs who were waiting to have an interaction session with the Chief Minister were disappointed. "What’s the point in inviting us to an interactive session when there is no interaction at all," said a CEO who had come all the way from Chennai. "If there was no time, the organisers could have begun the session straightaway instead of wasting time on speeches."
