MUMBAI: Insurance claims are pouring in thick and fast for the cars damaged by vandals during Thursday’s anti-SEZ protest in Navi Mumbai.
Insurance firms have already been saddled with around 100 claims. Most vehicle owners, fortunately, have taken a comprehensive insurance policy that provides a cover for damage during rioting. The firms have also waived off the mandatory rule that ask policy-holders to file a police complaint for filing claims.
The firms will now have to shell out around Rs 30 lakh.
