Sebi chairman M. Damodaran on Thursday sought an embargo on the number of regulators in the country, especially in financial sector, while seeking transparency in appointment of regulators and functional autonomy for them.
"I think there is a strong case for India to have an embargo on financial sector, setting up more and more regulatory authorities," he said.
