The Tata Power Company Ltd, India’s largest private power company, signed an EPC contract for supply of five 800 MW steam turbine generators with Toshiba Corp. for the first 4000 mw ultra mega power project at Mundra in Gujarat.
Toshiba Corp’s scope of work includes the design, manufacture, test and supply of equipment related to the steam turbine generators. They will also be associated with supervision of commissioning of the turbines.
Mr Prasad R. Menon, MD of Tata Power, said: "This is a step towards our drawing on the technical expertise of an international player like Toshiba and will provide technical solution for Mundra UMPP."
